Power of Pause
with
author Terry Hershey November
2, 2009 Kathy
talks with Terry Hershey, a popular author and retreat leader about his new book,
The Power of Pause. Hershey understands that slowing down is difficult when you
live in a fast-forward world. However, he also knows from personal experience
that there is always a price to pay if we dont regularly take time simply
to pauseto cease activity, to treasure quiet time, and to discern the deep
meaning of lifes little moments. In The Power of Pause, Hershey uses
powerful stories and meditations, inspiring quotes, and a specific call to action
at the end of each chapter to help us understand the profound value of slowing
down in our daily lives and taking time for the truly important things. Over the
course of 52 brief chapters, we learn how to take back the life God always intended
for us to have by letting go of the things that keep getting in our way.

Back from the Baggage Claim with author Jason Barger
October
28, 2009 Kathy
talks with Jason Barger, author of Step Back from the Baggage Claim. Jason
spent seven straight days flying 6,458 miles to seven different cities - without
leaving the airports the entire time. He studied 10,000 minutes of observations
at all four corners of the U.S. and reflected on how our airport experiences can
teach us about our lives TODAY. The airport metaphor leaps to life through profound
anecdotes about an orphanage in Mexico, a summer camp in Ohio, bamboo, the homeless,
climbing Mt. Everest, a hotdog grill, and much more. The funny and inspiring stories
remind us how to change our daily world in our personal lives, businesses, schools
and faith communities!
